In the heart of the Tuscan hills, in the La Gigliola estate of Montespertoli, Sangiovese is cultivated, an ancient grape variety known since the time of Dante Alighieri, who mentions it in the Divine Comedy.
The grapes are selected only under special climatic conditions and then vinified in small steel containers for about 25 days. Subsequently, the wine is matured in oak barrels for 14 months, and then bottled without filtration.
The Sangiovese produced by Tenuta La Gigliola has a deep ruby red color with garnet reflections and a fruity aroma reminiscent of small berries such as currants and vanilla. On the palate, it is austere, flavorful, and perfectly blended, with a long aromatic persistence.
This wine pairs perfectly with roasted meats and game, as well as aged cheeses. With an alcohol content of 14%, it is an intense yet balanced wine that represents the harmony between nature and human care, typical of Tenuta La Gigliola.
